Sarah MacDougall

Sarah MacDougall new

  • Team: Board of Directors

Sarah has been a proud member of the Fort St. John community since moving here for work in 2007.  She and her husband felt embraced by the community, and decided this vibrant, active town was a great place to settle and raise their 4 daughters.

Sarah holds a bachelor’s degree in environmental public health and a certificate in public health inspection which led her to her career with Northern Health. She started as an Environmental Health Officer, was then promoted to Public Health Planner and then Team Lead for Environmental Health.  Sarah’s education and experience in these positions contributed to the development of her skills in interpreting and analyzing information, critical thinking and decision making, leadership and communication.

Giving back to the community is important to Sarah and she volunteers whenever she can.  Sarah is currently in her third year as the Treasurer for the Totem Preschool Board and has recently become Vice-chair for the Gymnastics Associations Board.  In the past, she has sat on her university’s student council, her professional associations provincial board and various work-related committees.  These experiences have increased Sarah’s knowledge of financial literacy, board governance and teamwork.
