Frequently Asked Questions

What are eStatements?

eStatements are electronic copies of your paper statements.

Why should I choose to opt out of receiving paper statements to receive eStatements instead?

Convenience and security are the primary benefits to receiving eStatements. You will no longer have to store your printed statements, as you have access to them online, 24 hours per day, 7 days per week. In addition, making the switch to eStatements reduces the amount of energy and paper used to mail paper statements to you.

How do I opt out of paper statements?

Log on to MemberDirect online banking and click on the Statement Preference link on the lower left side of the screen.  Follow the prompts to complete the opt out process.  You will continue to receive your paper statement until this has been completed.

Is it safe to view my eStatements online?

North Peace Savings’ MemberDirect online banking is secure and up to date with industry standards.  The company which provides this service to our Credit Union also supplies this same level of secure, private service to other credit unions in BC and across Canada.

How long do I have to report any omissions or discrepancies in my statements?

Even when you opt out of receiving a paper statement, you are still required to notify the Credit Union of any discrepancies or omissions within 30 days of the end of the month in which the error occurred. You may check your statements for discrepancies online, anytime at your convenience.

Is it simple and easy to access eStatements?

Your eStatement is available 24 hours per day through North Peace Savings’ MemberDirect online banking system.

Can I access my previous statements?

Yes. Statements will be archived and will be made available for up to 7 years.
